There is something rewarding about a professor that remembers you when you haven’t had there class in a couple of years. Teachers are very busy and this particular one is a part time instructor, he has a full time job. I have been fortunate to have many excellent teachers that work in the same field they are teaching.
You never think that you really stand out in a class of 30+ and that the professor isn’t going to remember your name past the end of the class. To find out that you had an impact on them with your papers or the way you presented yourself during a presentation gives an incredible sense of pride.
Now I know that all of the hard work I have pushed myself through, the late and sometimes sleepless nights, the tedious pouring over editing and reevaluating your work truly does pay off.
